The embroidered designs for these bags come from two countries – Nepal and Mali. The camel designs were stitched by survivors of gender-based violence in Mali. These artists received embroidery training between 2015 and 2017 from Abi Konate, a professional tailor. Abi then turned their blocks into bags. The tiger embroidery and bags were made in 2019 by family-members of those who disappeared during the conflict in Nepal, with support from Bobbi Fitzsimmons.
