Sharmila lives in Burigaun, in the district of Bardiya, central Nepal. She is the youngest of six siblings and is still traumatized by the disappearance of her father when she was a child, which she described in a powerful embroidered story for the Bardiya Memorial Quilts. Sharmila is not as active in the Bardiya embroidery cooperative as others, but has continued to use her skills by making several Tiger bags for sale. Sharmila very much hopes that her bags will find a market and offer some relief after the loss of her father, which is still felt deeply by her family.
