Sabina, 21, was seventeen when she signed up for embroidery training in 2019 to contribute a story for the Woman’s World Quilt. She has been an enthusiastic stitcher ever since. Sabina produced a strong block about girl’s education for the Kenyan COVID quilts in 2021 and followed up with an elephant for the Sister Artists 2 quilt challenge that was quilted by Donna Bergman in North Carolina and auctioned. Sabina loves the teamwork involved in embroidery projects and hopes to find a market for her work. She is also active in the Kangemi Advocacy and Self Help Group, which formed in 2020 to organize embroidery training and launched a highly successful vaccination campaign in the settlement.
