Ruth lives in Nairobi with her three children, two of whom have albinism. She was one of twenty members of the Albinism Society of Kenya (ASK) who received embroidery training in the summer of 2021 to make stories for the Kenyan Albinism Quilts. Ruth’s poignant story showed a mother hiding her baby with albinism under her shawl out of shame. She is associated with Shield of Faith, the women’s association in Kibera, and is grateful to the embroidery project for teaching her a new skill.
