Pauline lives in the informal settlement of Kangemi, Nairobi, where she mentors young girls and helps as a community volunteer. Pauline took up embroidery in 2020 when she made a story for the Kenyan COVID Quilts which described the loneliness caused by social distancing. She then followed up by stitching a monkey for the Sister Artists 2 challenge which was quilted by Aarti Ravi in Washington DC and auctioned. Pauline is also active in the Kangemi Advocacy and Self Help Group, which formed in 2020 to organize embroidery training and launched a highly successful vaccination campaign in the settlement.
