Lynn, 24, lives in Mbare, Zimbabwe. Tragically she lost both of her parents when she was 6 and has been raised by her grandmother. Lynn also takes care of her younger siblings. She has been an active member of the program run by Women Advocacy Project that empowers girls by teaching them to make soap and produce embroidery. Lynn made a powerful block for the Zimbabwe Child Marriage Quilt that shows a husband beating up his wife - the fate that sadly awaits many girls who are forced into marriage.  Lynn has been making embroidery for four years now and she tells us that it helps her to use her hands and rely less on other people. Lynn has still to complete her studies and hopes one day to become a psychologist.
