Liz is a single mother with two children, one of whom, Rick, aged 8, has albinism. Liz sells fish at the market to support her family. She was one of twenty members of the Albinism Society of Kenya (ASK) who received embroidery training in the summer of 2021 to make stories for the Kenyan Albinism Quilts. Liz’a story showed a father kicking his wife out of the house because she gave birth to a child with albinism. Liz is associated with Shield of Faith, the Kibera women’s association. She is grateful to embroidery for giving her a new skill and a chance to work with other mothers, and hopes her embroidery finds a market.
